Default LOW REVS POWER LOSS - in my d16y8 ej8..please help !!!!

PLEASE i NEED YOUR HELP PEOPS...

just bought honda civic coupe sr, d16y8 sohc vtec, 90kmiles, 1996

it seems ok..
new spark plugs..new leads,.. fuel filter.. changed..
air filter..fairly new....

but the car just is loosing power..or is not accelerating the way it should..

when I accelerate in 1st. 2nd , 3rd gear.. in low rpm 0 - 3k.. the car..sort of hesitates.. makes like small jerks or jumps.. hard to notice..but they are there.. as if it does not want to accelerate smoothly.. because of something..

cleaned the throttle.. air..sensor.. all that.. and dunno what to do next..
there is no engine light on.. and vtec works just fine

as soon as the car gets above 3000 rpm..it goes smoothly and accelerates properly.. no problem..

what could it be... ?????

thanks for any ideas..and help

Hi i had that problem before, and it can caused by to much timing adv. Check the timing with a timing light ,or it could be the the O2 sensor running a little rich in that area. My O2 wire was cut a little bit so i redid the wire and it fixed my problem.
But i would check the timing first

cheers dude.. I think it might be due to the fuel hoses and injectors dirty..
so I m running a fuel injection cleaner.. and then I see from there..
I ll change the cam belt.. and later.. may check the timing..

try the O2 first, thats what usually happens when they go bad!

the guy I bought car of... said he had the cam belt changed.. but who knows... perhaps the timing was tempered with and is not right...

could be the timing problem

Ill have to try the o2 sensor..and timing .. cam belt.. and see from there...

runnin slick 50 and the car seems a bit quicker.. better response..
still when I press gas hard..and release clutch quick.. it jerks. hesitates.. and then accelerates.. after. 3k rpm just fine..

if the timing belt wasn't put on correctly then your timing will be off!
