PLEASE i NEED YOUR HELP PEOPS...

just bought honda civic coupe sr, d16y8 sohc vtec, 90kmiles, 1996

it seems ok..
new spark plugs..new leads,.. fuel filter.. changed..
air filter..fairly new....

but the car just is loosing power..or is not accelerating the way it should..

when I accelerate in 1st. 2nd , 3rd gear.. in low rpm 0 - 3k.. the car..sort of hesitates.. makes like small jerks or jumps.. hard to notice..but they are there.. as if it does not want to accelerate smoothly.. because of something..

cleaned the throttle.. air..sensor.. all that.. and dunno what to do next..
there is no engine light on.. and vtec works just fine

as soon as the car gets above 3000 rpm..it goes smoothly and accelerates properly.. no problem..

what could it be... ?????
