Default performing engine swap, should i swap out trans

Im thinking i should swap out the automatic trans and go with manual. Im swapping a 1.5 SOHC out of a civic for a B18 out of an integra. will i have to change the dashpod? and make my own linkage what do you think. and if anyone wants any thing from a 90 Integra or the engine/trans from a 93 civic ill be parting them out during the swap.

I did exactly that 6 years ago. It's a straight swap if it's a b18c1, the only thing you'll need is to weld on a manual transmission mount from a manual civic. The dash cluster needs to be change too if you want an rpm gauge. if it's any other b18, I can't tell ya

...and an ECU, pedal assembly, clutch MC, center console, the list goes on and on. Too much of a headache for too old of a car, but to each his own.

a lot of work.

1. auto to manual, you'll need a new ECU, pedal assembly and clutch MC as said.

2. you plan to throw an OBD0 motor to an OBD1 chassis. You'll need to make sure you have all the right sensor/emission equiptment if that matters in your state. It is illegal in most.

3. going from hydraulic type transmission to cable type transmission (chassis wise) may require a new cable conversion transmission mount

4. you may need new engine mounts as the rear mount may not bolt up from the DA Integra.

...and a bunch of little stuff that adds up.

If you want a manual b18 buy a car that has a 5 speed. The money spent on the auto to manual could be spent on a different car that has a manual tranny.
