Default *C35a1 motor swap and more.

This motor swap has now been done approximately 15 times now. It is from a 96-04 RL and can be swapped into a 91-95 acura legend and first gen TL for added torque and realiability. However some are combining various legend C32a1 type 2 parts onto this motor with custom chips with OBX headers with great results.

My motor however is dubbed the "SPEC-R" and goes beyond the norm that i designed and built myself. I had it built from the ground up from a 00' C35a block. It was honed and decked. The crank was polished and new bearings installed throughout. The heads are the RL heads but were ported and gasket matched with the stock exhaust manifolds and currently have the legend type 2 cams installed at the moment. I was the first to swap in a set of pistons from a newer acura motor to bump compression up to 10.7:1 to 11:1 based on the amount of material removed when it was decked. I also custom built the first intake manifold that still utilizes the stock TB and neck for ease of assembly and tuning however it was designed for FI/turbo use and will be taken off shortly.

My list:
c35a1 block decked/honed
c35a1 heads ported
swapped custom pistons
type 2 cams
custom intake manifold
cleaned/flowed type 2 injectors
c35a1 fuel rails
c35a1 ported exhaust manifolds
custom test pipes
C32a type 2 y-pipe and cat
spec stage 2 clutch
auto Aluminum diff.
limited edition short shifter
custom ROM chip(redoing)
custom aluminum pullies

currently running on lowering springs with 04' TL rims and stopping power is type 2/GS R1 concept rotors with swapped type 2 dual piston calipers holding redstuff pads.

Just wanted to show the possibilities of what you can do if you put your mind to it and dont listen to people that do not have a factual opinion to give. I came up with this motor two years ago and am happy with it so far with 7k miles on it taken to 6500RPMS+ and 135mph. I am currently developing a supercharger kit as well and a OEM caliper BBK.

Haven't you been banned from other Acura forums? More than once I believe.

Good God Ben, you will stop at nothing for some sort of attention?

You've had the car running since summer, been banned from the Legend forums numerous times and have yet to show a dyno and 1/4 mile E.T. of this self proclaimed "Spec R".

Nobody cares about the Legend unless you’re on the Legend forums. The sooner you figure that out the sooner you'll grow up, God willing!

3.5 swap done approximately 15 times! Wow! Tell me Ben, who was the first one to do it?
It's a rhetorical question, Ben.

Default Wtf??

I have posted this info on NUMEROUS boards. Alot of people love to know what is possible. Alot of owners of CLs etc that could not find a rare 6spd etc.

Damn whats so funny is that you guys lurk on all these other forums. ahaha. I just post up what is possible in the appropriate section and i am off.

Take it easy losers.

***To all others viewing this thread(including admin) that have done numerous B16, h22, k24 swaps the above posters couldn't even begin to tell you how to do it. However i am an ASE certified tech and soon to be working for acura once again. However my choice of engine is the C-series. Soon to be the J-series in a couple years. I love all acura and honda and appreciate all cars and the hard work that goes into them. Apparently some do not. So I am just letting people know that if they come across a legend for sale that has a BHG this is what can be done quite easily one might add.

PS- I have only been banned on one forum EVER and that was by one of the members above who ironically did the 3.5 swap first yet has no appreciation to others that take it a step further.

Not to start a flame war or anything, but in my experience ASE certifications mean dick. Other than the fact that it's a sheet of paper that allows employers to insure your work, it doesn't ACTUALLY mean that you know what you're doing or that you know more than someone else.

I've built numerous B series engines, I've also worked with 428 SOHC engines, 4AG(Z/T)E, 2JZs, 1JZs, M30s, M113s, M275s, Just about every series of Nissan motor VG, VQ, VH, RB. My favorite project car of which I still have is a 560whp Z31 300ZX turbo with a VG30ET (SOHC, single turbo version of the later twin turbo model) and it's smog legal.

I don't have any automotive certifications nor have I gone to school to leanr any of this, well, unless you consider physics and materials engineering formal automotive training.
