However i am an ASE certified tech and soon to be working for acura once again.
Not to start a flame war or anything, but in my experience ASE certifications mean dick. Other than the fact that it's a sheet of paper that allows employers to insure your work, it doesn't ACTUALLY mean that you know what you're doing or that you know more than someone else.

I've built numerous B series engines, I've also worked with 428 SOHC engines, 4AG(Z/T)E, 2JZs, 1JZs, M30s, M113s, M275s, Just about every series of Nissan motor VG, VQ, VH, RB. My favorite project car of which I still have is a 560whp Z31 300ZX turbo with a VG30ET (SOHC, single turbo version of the later twin turbo model) and it's smog legal. :grin:

I don't have any automotive certifications nor have I gone to school to leanr any of this, well, unless you consider physics and materials engineering formal automotive training.
