Default slow prelude??

i ran my stock prelude over the summer and got a 17.1 in the quarter. Its 98 automatic. Any ideas why i ran so slow besides not being able to launch?

have you done a tune up recently? im not trying to be a dumdum (you probably already thought of that) my car (94 vtec model) runs about a 15.42 1/4 mile. i would think that 17.1 is a bit slow and definitley your car should be in the high 15's low 16's. the launch really affects the time. if the car rides fine and has no cel's id think it was the launch. sludge buildup? just throwing ideas out there.

id start with a tune up

hope this helps

car's got 116,000 miles on it. the previous owner did a tune up at 90k so im assuming that that is not the problem. a guy i know with another prelude changed his o2 plugs and said that helped him out a lot. that might be my prob. Thanks for giving me something besides that i have a heavy automatic though.

thats what im here for...giving good advice even when i dont know what the hell im talking about

why you ask?

because thats the type of guy i am this week

but seriously, i didnt think of the O2 sensors good idea. those are really expensive. id go for the universal ones ($80 vs. $300) all you need to do is save the wire harness from the old 02 sensor and solder the 4 wires to the new one. (Easier than installing a cd playrer)
