In the middle of replacing head gasket.
I am about to take the head off my B18B1 (OBD1) thats in my 95 civic and replace all hoses gaskets and a few other parts. need to make a grocery list. Main Q's are what hoses do i need to get for the swap that are different. like upper and lower rad hoses. heater core hoses, and anything else. ( the person who had this last lets just say im not trusting a thing they did.) Also Once im done replaceing everything and puttingit all back together how do i put the cams back in without messing up the valves... This is an interference engine and i dont want to just put them on and start bending valves. Please help with this prcess.
Please guys a really need some help no one can give me a straight answer on this stuff the upper i have to use a integra hose but lower which one and for the heater core what do i use??? Also help me out with putting the cams back in. please
Upper hose is an 94 LS and lower hose is a 94 Del Sol vtec.
For the timing belt, here is how I do it:
1. Make sure tensioner is loose.
2. Line up both cam gears to TDC
3. Insert punch into cams to make sure they are aligned and won't move (there is a small hole for a punch to go through on each cam)
4. Move crank pulley to align the white mark with the lower timing belt cover.
5. Slip belt over cam gears and move crank pulley 3 teeth CCW.
6. Tighten tensioner.
7. Crank engine over by hand several times and check to make sure everything is lined up when you get back to TDC. If so, you are good. If not, try again.
