LS/Vtec
ok guys i have been researching the LS/Vtec motor for a week now i ever have some parts i am considering for the set up. But there is one this that is really getting on my nerves. There is either the horror story or the OMG i got so much power out of the LS/Vtec and the numbers are great and its has been running well. Can i please get some straight up answers whether it can be a reliable daily driver set up or no?
I'm no expert....but the theory is like this I think. LS/VTEC increases rod length, giving more time to pack in fuel and air. The result is higher piston velocity and more power.
But, the rod angle increases, which introduces more stress and wear. It's my understanding that this is why some of the swaps fail after 20K miles or so...
So use quality parts, and if you don't know what you're doing (sorta what Snoopy said in a nutshell) you're going to end up with a horror story to tell.

So i want to build a reliable one. Where can i get step by step instructions on building one? No one has posted one up. Are GSR main/trust bears strong enough b/c i hear they are good to use for higher rpms on them. I will be replacing the rods with godlen egal H beams. Those studs on that rod dont need to be changed right? Whats a good piston to use for no machining b/c i hear you need to modify the OEM pisonts for the pins. thats what i dont want to do. would it be helpful to micro polish the crank? commen knowledge whould say yes b/c it makes the assembly rotate smoother. Any other products i mean i have many to list and i have few of them waiting for me to say yes on getting them.
