Default A few n/a Q's

I have a b16 block, b16 head and a set of itr pistons..
Ill be using a .027" headgasket.......what will my c/r be?

also i have a set of b16 eagle rods i was using with JE pistons....am i right in thinking that the ITR pistons will fit straight onto them with no problems?

I know to fit itr pistons to oem b16 rods u usually have to shave machine the rod small end by 1mm or something, but i think the small end is bigger on the eagle rods for the forged pistons.

Also whats the correct piston to wall clearance for my set-up??

Thanks, ste

By using the ITR pistons in that b16a your C/R is only going to be around 10.1:1 or less! you should use The B16B-(CTR aka "PCT") oversized pistons
(81.25) your C/R will be closer to 11.1:1 and the should fit you current rods. www.inlinefour.com has oem jdm pistons for $220.

as far as piston to wall clearences you really should have the block honed and slight bored .10 over bore should be good. just let the machine shop know what size piston that you are using before hand!!

what Cams are you planning to use???

I already have the pistons they were really cheap (£20 / $40ish??) from a friend and only have 50k miles on them, im really broke after alot of bad luck from a turbo build....

So im just trying to put it back together with a cheap n/a build and thought for that money it was better to use than the stock b16 pistons, otherwise i wud have bought the b16b pistons.

The new block i have only has 60k miles on it, i'd rather not have it bore'd out if poss as its obv extra ££££.

I have already got a full gasket/seal kit for it too and new mains as ill be swapping the crank from my original block.

So will the itr pistons fit the eagle rods ok?

oem cast pistons will not fit forged rods without modifying the pistons to accept c-clips. the stock setup uses a press fit pin design.

Ah right, thanks for that...so what would i have to do to make the itr pistons fit my oem b16 rods? I have the itr rods too, but i presume they wouldnt fit the b16?

Saying that though, they look identical in lenght and pin height and im sure they have the same sized big end?

itr rods are too long and will not work with a b16 crank in a b16 block. you need to mill 1mm off each side of the small end of b16 rods to fit any type r piston onto it.

Great thanks, ill get some.

I have the following build--
B16 block
ITR pistons on b16 rods
B16a head
ITR valvesprings and retainers
.027" headgasket
Skunk2 stg2 cams
Comptech manifold
Standard b16 intake manifold and thottle body
AEM intake

I also have 440cc injectors which im trying to decide whether to keep or sell,
would standard injectors be ok with a adj fpr or should i keep the 440cc?
