Default battery/alternator problem!

I have an 01 DX civic

1. While driving, instrument panel and radio will cease operation.
2. After varying amounts of time (10 seconds to a few minutes) they will begin operating again. The battery light came on.
3. Aux power source (lighter) will sometimes remain operating.
4. Sometimes the fan will slow down or stop running.
5. Engine operation never seems to be an issue - just the devices specified.
6. Once (today) the car would not turn over. Got it started with a jump then turns off after 50 meters.

i changed the battery today, but the battery light is still on. i think its the alternator. any one knows how to change the alternator or know where i can find a DIY??
thanks

Should have taken your alternator to get checked. Some places can check it without having to remove it and could have saved yourself some money on that new battery. You're best bet is to get a Helm's manual. Everything you need to know is in there, although replacing an alternator is straight forward. Probably just a few bolts, tensioner and the connector. There's usually between 3-4 long bolts holding it in. Changed the one on my 98 Accord last summer, wasn't difficult. While you're there might as well change the belt too.
