Default my civic has wierd symptoms

hey guys i was wondering if anyone could help me. On start up my 96 dx runs a lil rugged for a minute the rpms drop down to almost 0, then outta no where jumps to 2k then settles down around 1500 n idles there, THEN after being drivin and being at a light or somthing it idles so low it feels like its about to stall but doesnt jus idles extremely low. . . has this happend to anyone ? or anyone have a clue ? thanks in advance

I think you may want to check your maf, I had the same thing happen in my old Mazda, and I took it in and let them clean the throttle body and afterwards it ran great....but im not sure with you civic, im kinda new to the whole civic scene myself. hope that helps.

Civics have a MAP not a MAF. Your problem is most likely related to the ICAV or FITV.
