Default B16 alternator, can i use different year!!!!!

Ok i hope this is not to stupid of a question. But i have a first gen b16 in my 91 crx. I bought this alternator off ebay to replace my old alternator that sucked. Well i bought it in the winter and didnt get it tested like a smart guy, and when i put it in, everything works for a few days and then things just went down hill. Car would not start even with a brand new battery. would work then at night i would drive and then it would die. So i got it tested and the alternator is not working up to the amount of voltage it should.

Ok i need a new one ASAP. Im going to the dyno in two days and i need this to work. Is there anyway i can you a alternator from a b16 out of a newer civic, or is there a no name alternator that will work, or can mine be fixed??????? I just want to know if im restricted to finding another first gen b16 alternator and thats it???

please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not 100% sure but I think any b-series alternator will work as long as its the same OBD. Don't quote me on that though
