What brand and model of tires are the best for the Accord now? BFGoodrich Traction T/A H? What?

195/60-15

Thanks in advance.

It depends on what you are looking for. Performance or value. What is your price range?

:werd: you can get a gumball tire that has awesome performance with a low tread wear rating, or you can get a great all season tire that will last a really long time, but the handling on it won't be great.

I think your asking about performance, and if thats the case what is your price range per tire?

The Traction T/A is a high or "ultra-high" performance all weather. I'm looking for a quiet ride, good handling 60 or 70K mile warranty type of tire. My driving style is "spirited."

I guess I should ask what everyone recommends. I'm familiar with several of the currently available brands and models. I just wanted to try and get a feel for what folks are thinking in general on the forum as far as a good tire goes.

Based on what I've seen so far at tirerack.com, I'd say that I'm looking in the $45-65 range.

Thanks.

Try Falkens. However nothing will last you 70k if you want high performance, not even half of that under spirited driving. Pirelli neros are alright, a bit pricier.

Get round tires, those seem to be working the best on my Accord...

... but in all seriousness, I got a set of "General" tires the other month, they are excellent! Smooth, quiet ride.

Yes, round tires are good. Thanks.

I have been using the Traction T/As. They are OK; but seem to be really sensitive to tire pressures, which I actually can't tell if the wear is alignment or tire pressure related.

Anyway, they do come fairly well rated on tirerack and they are supposed to have a 60K mile warranty.

I'm just throwing the general question out there...

Thanks again.

There are very few V let alone Z rated tires in either the 195-65-15 or 215-60-15 tire sizes.

You are much better off looking at a 16" or 17" rim. and your tire selection will be huge. Especially if you go for a 16x7 or 17x7 rim.

17x7 would give you the option of a 225-45-17 one of the most popular tire sizes on the market. You should be able to find a decent rim at the tirerack very cheap without issue.

Sorry. Should have stated that constraint too... Not looking to change rims or rim size at this time.

Well then your likely stuck with an H or V rated 215-60-15 for the best grip, but I wouldn't expect then to handle much more then a stock tire. I mean 60,000mi and performance are some what mutually exclusive.
