Default A cuple questions about rebuilding...

My 92' LS for turbo. Now I have already bought a set of SRP pistons, and rods. As for tuning I went with a SAFC by Apexi and upgraded injectors to 350cc. I only want to run about 7-10psi with a t3/t4 setup. The reason I am diong this is because i recently blew a whole threw my last block, while rrunning to lean with a DSM turbo setup. I have a spare b18a1 sitting in the garage but I am not quite sure i can get away with just using that one and putting everything back together. What needs to be done..?
p.s.-there is small surface rust in the cylinders that needs to be hoaned out.

i would be looking into upgrading your fuel pump and getting an fuel pressure regulator, get a non vtec p28 ecu from www.robearracing.com ($150)and chip it, get hondata with the boost option and take it to a dyno and have it tuned.

bore and hone each piston to each cylinder. replace all the bearings, seals, gaskets, pumps, and belts. you need something better than a crappy safc for tuning. like mentioned above a chipped ecu and hondata or similar is ideal. psi is irrelevant. shoot for a hp goal. built and tuned correctly you could safely do 300-350whp.

hey thanks for the response, but I am really just looking for what I have to do to the block 1st to make it pretty dependable while running boost, but nothing to crazy. My pockets arent deep enough yet, so i am just taking step by step. But thanks for the input.
p.s.-Not looking for great HP numbers right off-the-bat people. thanks.

tuning is key on any engine. you could have a bulletproof bottom end but without a good tune, throw another rod through the block or melt a piston.

Everything that snoopy just said in his last post you will need to do!!! But i wouldn't put the turbo kit back on your car until you have everything to tune your motor properly so that this doesn't happen again. Buy parts at a time, so that your not strapped for cash. hone and bore-(if needed), gaskets, oil pump, water pump, bearings, etc., install the srp rods and pistons so that you can at least drive the car and break the bottom end in while buying everything else!!
