Changing rear brake pads... minor problem
Ok so I'm changing the rear brake pads on a 95 gsr, and I can't seem to figure out how to push the piston back in so I can fit the caliper on the pads... I've been told to twist it, but It won't move. Plz help. Thanx
Ok, thanx guys I'll try it. Now I have another problem. On the front pads, the inner pad has a clip. One of the front sets (EBC greenstuff came without the clip, the the passesnger side only, the driver side has it). Is this how these pads are supposed to be or is this a problem... PLZ help soon thanx all.
Dang, wish I would have know that before... I was sitting there struggling with the pliers and now I got it done. Will definitely pick it up for my next brake job tho, thanx mxl36o
That won't work on the rear calipers, the rear caliper pistons screw in.
95LSv, you can just get a straight pry bar and twist the piston in like a screw. If it won't move and you can't think of any other way to move it with our help, then you might have a frozen caliper.

If I remember correctly this was the reason I purchased it. The brakes on my Olds Cutlass sepreme screwed in. Pita because one side was reverse threaded
.
But dont hold me too it as I'm 41,getting old and senile....Jack

I use a flathead screwdriver with a slot that fits into the groove. Make sure that when you are twisting it back in, the piston boot isn't being distorted/ripped/crushed.
