HOW do u know the vtech isnt kicking in? And wheres the vtec solenoid? My engine light always comes on after the engine swap, [same OEM one, just less miles and it actually worked.]

Maybe my ghetto mechanic doesnt know how to hook it up right/>???

Here is the main list as to why it could not be working

No MPH Being read
No RPM Being read
Knock Sensor not connected
Assembly filter clogged
Solinoid stuck
Oil level too low
Lose wire
Plug rusty

Anyone of those can be the reason. Go down the list and see what happends. Adjusting your Valves will be a waste of time.

Everything Honura said, but I would do a valve adjustment. Especially on a car thats 10 years old, and probably never had one.

If it was working fine recently, Oil Level is a great possibility.
