When the button is pressed the cruse light lights up in the display I press set on a speed and then let off the gass and press resume and nothing happens. What would I probbaly need to replace.

ok this is simple... If you know anything about working on a car yourself. Basically its a vacuum hose that either isn't connected or that has a hole in it. Pop the hood and go to your cruise control actuator, generally near the drivers side front fender. and windshield washer fluid reservoir. basically 1st check all the hoses running to the actuator:
1 hose running from the intake manifold down to the actuator " it has a metal spacer hose inbetween the manifold and actuator"

2 hoses running from the actuator to underneath the fender.
1 of the two hoses just goes under the fender like an inch and sucks in free air to keep the actuator from getting jammed when you use the decelerate button on your steering wheel, don't worry about that one.
the 2nd hose is on the opposite side of the actuator and actually runs down through the fender, through the engine bay. this is most likely where your hose is disconnected.

The third hose is the hose that i was talking about, that ran from the intake manifold down to the cruise control actuator. just follow that hose to the top of the actuator, then if I am correct you will run into a nipple to hook another hose to that one hose. this is where your 2nd fender hose connects to. connect it if it is disconnected.

IF NOT.... check the connector on the top backside of the actuator should be grey in color. check by taking it off and pushing it back in if it is already connected, if not than somewhere near the actuator should be an un-hooked connector with wires running to it, simply connect it and your done.

If all that failed check the fuse for the cruise control just to make sure.

If it wasnt the fuse go back to the actuator and check the two locknuts that hold the accelerator cable into the actuator. There should be less than a 1/2 inch of freeplay (13mm) if there is more then you need to adjust it into specifications.

However all in all im betting on the airleak all the others would have to be done by someone underneath the hood and since your light works im pretty sure its not an electrical problem because the indicator light is in circuit to the actuator and ECU. Goodluck hope this helps
