Default S2000 to be replaced with Prelude successor?

I was talking to some of the managment at a local Honda dealership today(who were admiring my lude) and they proceeded to tell me they'd been given an advanced notice of something rather interesting. They claim that with the S2000 being discontinued, Honda is going to be releasing a new sports car very similar to the Prelude, that may or may not bear the lude name. Wanted to know what everyone else has heared?(I know this should probably be in auto rumors, but noone seems to post/read there)

theyd be silly to reuse the name of a retired car. i think only americans do that.

btw the prelude was never a sales beast, but i think the s2k does fair.

i heard a rumour that the rsx was dying next year and a big maybe than the CTR would come over. Perhaps that was the honda techs rumbling...

Well i do know they already discontinued the RSX, so what does that leave Honda with, preformance wise??? The Civic Si?? No NSX, No RSX, No S2000?

I think this rumor is complete BS, just like the oft-cited rumors of another CRX going into production.

Acura just killed of the RSX to give the Civic Si more room in the FWD sport coupe market. On the Honda side, the AP2 S2000 is still selling very well.

I strongly doubt Honda would kill off a successful and unique RWD product to replace it with another FWD coupe.

They are making a TSX couple model thats why the RSX (and other reasons) last production year ends this summer.

Also, I doubt that dealership knows anything special. Its all rumors that no one can really confirm, the CRX rumor has been floating around for a while, and they been saying the were canceling the RSX for 2 years now.

s2000 is one of hondas only cars in the US with history.
