Specialized Hardrock with Disc Brakes, that is. h:

I picked her up today after browsing around at some different bikes. I ended up purchasing it along with a GIANT Boulder SE for the gf at a local bike shop. I went with them (Conte's) because they have been around for years and have an excellent staff. All tuning is free through them as long as I own the bike too.

Even though it was pushing like 110 degrees this evening we took them out for a 8 mile ride around the area. I'm pretty happy with the purchase even though I spent more than I had planned.

I just think they look dorky h:

Before I even took the bike home, I swapped the stem on mine. First and last mod h: Aside from electronics.

No hard tail is the non-suspension bikes in the rear. I grew up on hard tails and a lot of mountain biking, when everything went suspension I got out of it because it felt like it took a lot of the challenge out of riding anymore. I mean it's pretty easy to do 40 downhill when all the jarring shock is being absobed with suspension components, but put a solid rear and solid fork on and do 40 down that same hill

On the Hardrock the first mod for me has always been neck and handlebars. Other than that they are very capable bikes.
