No hard tail is the non-suspension bikes in the rear. I grew up on hard tails and a lot of mountain biking, when everything went suspension I got out of it because it felt like it took a lot of the challenge out of riding anymore. I mean it's pretty easy to do 40 downhill when all the jarring shock is being absobed with suspension components, but put a solid rear and solid fork on and do 40 down that same hill
