I need to swap a replacement engine into my 1991 Honda Civic HB, D15B1 engine w/4 speed manual tranny. I just want a stock engine that I can swap in. Which ones (aside from exact same engine) can be swapped in w/out major issues? I want it to be able to be bolted to the stock mounts, not have an issue with axle length, etc. This engine swap is to just get it back to being a great daily driver.

I wish I could tell you that any D series engine would bolt up to your mounts and tranny, becuase personally I love that 4 speed. But I just don't know for sure.

It'd be nice if you could bolt up a D16Z6 Vtec motor because that would give you some extra power and be a good relaible engine. I had 230,000 miles on my Z6 before I sold my Civic.
