Car not Starting, Need Help!!!
I have a weird one for you guys my car from time to time will not start, when I turn the key all the way I will sometimes hear the starter click but not turn and sometimes I hear a sound coming from my ecu as if it was a Pentium 1 trying to process(random static type sound). I tried replacing the starter, battery and terminal wires, checked ECU connections, Alarm connections, starter kill connections and nada it still persists.
Anyone else have this problem? BTW this is on a 96 Civic Ex Sedan Auto.
I tried everything and nothing. Tried Searching online and found this and it is exactly the same as my car, bad ecu?
Please help.

I just ripped the dash apart and found that the Pentium 1 noise was coming from a relay, I'm guessing it is called the main assembly relay and I was gonna replace it but apparently checkers doesnt carry it so I have to go to honda which will probably be $100, I hope to God that that is the problem.

Well I changed the main relay since the honda mechanics said that it goes bad all the time and it still does the same thing. So I checked the ignition switch and its good. I cant find any loose wires and they insist that it is the main relay. Is it possible that I bought an OEM relay that was faulty?
there is no way your computer is making noise. the noise you hear in the old pentium one computers, is the hard drive searching.. ecu has no hard drive.
if you hear your starter click, but not crank then you have a power/ground problem or a short in the starter. the main relay does not control cranking, only the fuel system. if you have a starter kill or an ignition kill on your alarm then i would say yank that bitch out and put it back to stock (if it is not stock). and next time it doesnt do it, check for spark real fast. sometimes the coil/ignitor goes out or becomes intermittent. also check for fuel next time it happens.
