Default del sol with GSR need some help

So my friends 93 Del sol is in the hop and it has a 94 GSR motor. Upgrades are skunk2 intake mani and Greddy header. After they installed the intake mani the car will no longer go into Vtec.. just looses power. Checked to see if it was throwing any codes but its not. Knock sensor has been replaced already. Clueless as to what else to check. If anyone has any ideas let me know thanks a lot...

edit: forgot to mention car was running fine until recently. It has the GSR ecu also and problems didnt arise til intake mani was put in. Everything seems to be in order.

James

ok so I just found out its not a SKUNK2 IM its a type R copy made by Pro Series? Also he was using a write up from HT on how to install it. Problem is the write up is for a BLOX IM and im not sure if it would apply to diff types. Im checking all the vacum hoses now to make sure they are all in the correct places. Would a misplaced hose cause the car to die at vtec?

as soon as it gets to like 3500 rpm the car just looses all power.. so technically its not running correctly period.

As for the IM not fitting.. I was mis-informed its not a skunk2 its some pro-series type r copy? I ahve no idea... I was jsut tryin to help him troubleshoot the thing.. he has no idea whats causing it to run that way.
