Default Adjustable cam gears

I just got some AEM tru time adjustable cam gears and I see you can either advance or retard the timing... Now what are the benefits of these options?
Also I just got some CTR cams, will those give me a decent increase in power?

Adjustments to the cam gears should be made on a dyno to ensure that you are getting the best gain along the broadest areas of the powerband. The CTR cams are great, but only if you have some method of tuning them to take advantage of the best gains.

If you really want me to go into what advancing and retarding the cam does in a more sophisticated engine theory, I will. I am just saying that you shouldn't be dialing them at anything except 0,0 unless you get on a dyno.

Somewhat true, but a local tuner who's good at street tuning can, tune the cams +1-2 or -1-2 depending on how your fuel maps look, my two cents...but dyno is betterthen none..

You can, but the butt dyno is not very effective at determining powerband changes with cam gear timing especially on minor bolt-on setups.
