Who makes the turbo kit? A well maintained turbo should last 100,000 miles or more.

Few ways to find out relative projected reliability:

1) How much CFM is the turbo capable of, and how much was he running?
2) Who makes the kit
3) Did he have a turbo timer
4) How many miles did he run the kit

The intercooler is a good sign as the cooler charge is less stressful on the turbo's thrust bearings.

Thats an awesome deal ONLY if it's a Full-Race kit...

I wouldn't pay more then about $1,200 for a complete used kit if I were ever to buy a "kit"....You can build your own kit for cheaper then that....
Like it was mentioned above...who makes the kit? brand?
Turbo size, trim a/r?
intercooler dimensions? fuel management?
If the three letters F. M. U. are anywhere in the kit.....don't waste your time..

Yes find out all the details then post them.
Asking us to give you advice on the price of a kit without knowing anything about is like asking if paying $3,000 is a good price for a vehicle make in 2001.

You should learn more about turbos before you make the decidion. Reasearch, and read some books. Turbochargers are a complex subject, and if you plan to add one on your car you should understand enerything about it because things WILL go wrong and you WILL have to fix them. If you don't understand everything, you will most likely blow your engine.

Learn how to read turbo maps, and make sure the turbo matches your enigne and your application. Find out everything you need to know. By that time you'll be able to piece your own kit together for cheaper.

Read Maximum Boost by Corkey Bell. Great book, great reading, with great diagrams. Will teach you a big chunk and most of the fundamentals that you need to know.
