Default skunk2 coilover install problem

i dont know why... i have to be missing something. i cant wrap my mind around this this. my friend came over with is 01 civic and wanted me to put on his skunk2 coilovers on his stock shocks etc. i said no problem... the springs are short as hell even when there not compressed as so that i cant tighten the shock down onto it to keep it in place...... kind of like this I////I---0-

what am i missing?

wrong springs sounds 2 me !cant u press them down then 2 get the top hat on and the nut phone the supl or something ????????????????? ?????????????

yeah...... thats what i think. i mean it works with the car down..... but if he were to hit a bump and stretch the spring out it could come off the base.

Nope that's normal. When you put it on the car and weight on the springs/shock it will compress them. The springs are shorter because the spring rates are higher than stock.

Yeah thats how my friends were on his integra. If hes hitting bumps hard enough to unperch the springs then he doesnt care much about his car anyways heh.

heh.... yeah... i finsished the install and had a couple of extra rubber rings left lying around... hehe... well he only payed me 5 bucks so whatever

nah they give you different sized orings for different damper combinations. the body on a stock damper will have a different size than say a tokico adjustable damper. the different size orings are provided for that purpose so you should expect to have extras. :thumbup:
