Swapping headgaskets is fun...NOT
My headgasket's been leaking for about two months and I'm finally getting around to putting a new one in. I only managed to get as far as taking both manifolds off today, and that wasn't exactly easy. After numerous small oil and coolant spills and some shenanigans with my oil feed tee blocking the lower middle nut of the IM, I finally got them off. Anyway, the old intake manifold gasket didn't come off all that well. There are parts of it stuck to the head in some places. Is it Kosher to scrape the old gasket off with a razor blade? Also, on the intake side, there seems to be a fair amount of oil in each port, which leads me to assume my valve seals are either going or gone. How hard is it to swap seals? How much do those valve seal tools cost? Could something else cause there to be oil in my intake ports?
Yeah go to kragen or something of the sort and get some gasket remover.
