Default Battery problem drain, this is a strange one

having a problem with my 94 civic ex, would really love some insight into it from someone more knowledgeable than myself....so, this week as I was driving, I would see the battery light blink, and there was less than full power to the wipers, lights, etc. Then two nights ago after driving home from work, as I went to park, the car went dead via no battery power, no electric, engine wouldnt turn over etc. Strangely, I waited about 5 mins, and it started back up, allowing me to park it. So, my first thought was that the ground connection was loose (which it was). I tightened it this morning, let the car warm up, everything looked normal, drove a buddy to his house, bout a 10 min. drive, and as I arrived, the car began to go dead again, wipers slowed down, speedometer zeroed, rpms zeroed, and then it was dead again. Go it parked, left for 5 hrs, came back to the car and it started right up. So, the battery will hold a charge when shut off, and I can start it, but then it runs down while I drive. If i shut it off the battery will come back, only to die while i'm driving. had the alternator replaced 5 months ago......please hook me up with some insight/ideas, thanks in advance, gotta get this thing sorted out.

it definatly sounds like the alternator again, even if battery is dead car should run fine off the cars alternator, if alternator gues bad then it will drain the battery, and will die, let the battery sit and it will recoup a little charge

go to autozone or some other auto parts place and have them test the alternator

But why would the battery go dead and then have enough juice to start the car?

I'd suspect a connection - like maybe the ground from the battery to the frame.

Check the positive connections going into the fuse box too. One of them was really loose in my car, and it seemed like my battery was dead, but it was a pretty intermittent problem depending on how the connection was sitting.
