Default Help With SI Engine Please Reply FAST

ok theres this car i want to buy its a 92 honda civic with a 91 si motor out of a hatchback.and it needs a 1.6 computer wiring harness.they said it wasnt firing up right or somthing so thats what they think it is.i dont no what that is or how much they cost so if you could give me some information it would help me out alot..thank you

if you don't know what a wiring harness is and don't know how much they cost, DON'T BUY THE CAR. You are gonna get f***ed. Don't buy the car, trust me.

you shouldn't need a new harness for anything. Most of the harnesses are basically the same. The only time it's difficult to modify a harness is if your going from dual point fuel injection to multi point. As for needing the 1.6 ECU you don't have to have it much it's preferred. 91 was before honda used OBD1 on the civics so the ECU wouldn't be compatible with the wiring anyway. Depending on what model of civic it is will depend on the level of difficulty to fix the problems. If everything is such a hurry or important you should post pics and give some more details.

It should still fire up even if a sensor or two isn't working. Then if it doesn't fire up it should throw atleast 1 CEL for something. Honda's can fire up with a slew of sensors not hooked up.

I'd get a different car. Having an older engine than your car is illegal. Could lead to problems in the future.

91' in 92' civic = bad idea. How much HP is a 91 si motor? D16A? right?
