Check Engine light - cycl. 3 misfire
Hey guys I could greatly use some help here! I own a 1999 acura integra LS B18 nonvtec. I bought this car for around $9500 and the next day my check engine light came on. I took it to autozone immediatly and they checked it with an obd2 scan tool. The code is a cylinder 3 misfire... simple enough right? I replace the plugs with NGK platinums, I replaced the wires with NGK wires, I replaced the distributor cap and rotor, and I replaced the coil pack. Even after all of these replacements within the past week and numerous code clearings by the guys at autozone we still can't figure out why my light keeps coming on and what could possibly be causing my 3rd cylinder to be misfiring? I'm pretty upset because I just bought this car and this is totally ruining my fun with this new car. I'm a general mechanic so I'm pretty intelligent when It comes to the understanding of the ignition system and hondas I've owned 3 and I'm 19years old so I care alot about honda motors and I'm just upset with this one. If there is anyone out there who could help with this I would greatly appreciate it, I just cant stand driving with the light on and especially when I know that a misfire is important. But again if there is anyone that can help or point out something I'm over looking then please drop me a line.
Oh I also forgot to mention that I added octane booster today and a can of seafoam auto marine cleaner to the gas tank after being instructed to do so by a gentleman at autozone. He said that the misfire could also be caused by bad gas and that running the two through should help out some too. I didn't really feel that the problem was such but shit why not the products seemed safe enough to me so I added them. So with all of the replacements and the two cleaning products added, I'm extrememly confused as to why it's still telling me that it has a misfire on cylinder 3. PLEASE HELP!

Does the car sound like a Subaru when it's running?
One quick way to check and see if your injector is working is to take a long flathead screwdriver or a 12" ratchet extension and put the tip right onto the injector body and put your ear up against the screwdriver handle or the extension. If the injector is working you should hear a fast metallic clicking sound. TO make sure you know wha to listen for try doing this on a friends car that you know works or try it on of of the cylinders on your car that does work. If the injector is not making any noise, then check the wiring first before you go and replace the injector. Hopefully you have a multimeter so you can test the wiring, if not buy one like an Actron from Autozone. Let me know if you need the steps out of the service manual that tells you how to check the wiring.

OK i had this exact problem with my 96 LS. I only i had a mis in cyl. 1 and 3. I went through all of the loops dist, injectors, spark, i was about to pull the head off and replace the gasket, but dad to the rescue helped me do a valve job on my car and since then the car has ran perfect. So i would get someone to do a valve adjustment on the entire head and see if that helps before spending any money...

I have the exact same problem as your initial post: Misfires in cylinder 1, 3. OBD P301, P303.
I've changed the spark plugs, spark plug wires, and am about to change the distributor cap and rotor. Did you also change the O2 sensor? Did it make a difference?
Hope to hear from you guys.
