Check Engine light - cycl. 3 misfire
Hey guys I could greatly use some help here! I own a 1999 acura integra LS B18 nonvtec. I bought this car for around $9500 and the next day my check engine light came on. I took it to autozone immediatly and they checked it with an obd2 scan tool. The code is a cylinder 3 misfire... simple enough right? I replace the plugs with NGK platinums, I replaced the wires with NGK wires, I replaced the distributor cap and rotor, and I replaced the coil pack. Even after all of these replacements within the past week and numerous code clearings by the guys at autozone we still can't figure out why my light keeps coming on and what could possibly be causing my 3rd cylinder to be misfiring? I'm pretty upset because I just bought this car and this is totally ruining my fun with this new car. I'm a general mechanic so I'm pretty intelligent when It comes to the understanding of the ignition system and hondas I've owned 3 and I'm 19years old so I care alot about honda motors and I'm just upset with this one. If there is anyone out there who could help with this I would greatly appreciate it, I just cant stand driving with the light on and especially when I know that a misfire is important. But again if there is anyone that can help or point out something I'm over looking then please drop me a line.
Oh I also forgot to mention that I added octane booster today and a can of seafoam auto marine cleaner to the gas tank after being instructed to do so by a gentleman at autozone. He said that the misfire could also be caused by bad gas and that running the two through should help out some too. I didn't really feel that the problem was such but shit why not the products seemed safe enough to me so I added them. So with all of the replacements and the two cleaning products added, I'm extrememly confused as to why it's still telling me that it has a misfire on cylinder 3. PLEASE HELP!
