Default I am a new teg owner what can I add to make my automatic car, "respectable"?

generally, manuals are known to be faster cars..

since my teg came in auto, I dont wanna change it to manual trans, just yet, ...

I bought my 2000 teg with 28,xxx miles, now has 32,xxx...

what can I add to make my car "respectable"?.. what I mean by "respectable" is..

if someone says, ".. yes, it's an auto, but at least it has turbo"..

what can I add besides turbo, which I am probably not gonna add,.. since it's cost much much.. $$..

what to add to make it gain more hp?.. cold air intake?.. headers.. what else?.. and also does it use up more gas?

[edit]

I may want respectable in terms of exterior.. or in general, everything

I will post pictures of my teg later on in life..

General response is usually:
Intake
Header
Exhaust

allowing your car to breathe better will allow it to perform better..
i'm not 100% on how well you'll actually feel a difference in an auto w/ that stuff... but that's what I'd do.

I'd also think about suspension, dropping it a lil and giving it a nicer stance will at least give it better handling, as well as a more welcomed appearance.

Skip altezzas, forget body kits. Keep her clean, drive her safe.

there's nothing you'll really be able to do about people not finding an automatic "Respectable."
Just remind them that they're idiots if it bothers you, and point out that it still gets you from point a to point b.

What drove you to buy an automatic transmission car? I'm not ragging on you, I'm curious. h:

Don't bother with bolt-ons. Anything less than a built transmission and some form of forced induction is a waste of money. The 10 hp you get from I/H/E (intake, header, exhaust) will be a pittance compared to the inefficiency of a stock automatic transmission.

Honestly, I'd limit your build to suspension only.. or better yet, save your money and move on to a manual transmission car in the near future.

Sorry to be a downer, but unless you take drastic steps to increase torque and hp, there's little point in modding an AT-equipped inline-4.

I wanted a low mileage 4 DR integra.. and an automatic with under 50k, was all I found so far..

would it be cheaper to convert the auto to manual, or I just give the car to my mom and I get another 4 DR manual, with under 80k ish miles?..

but oh well.. maybe next time, after many miles has passed, then convert to manual..

maybe I will just leave it.. and just make the exterior nicer.. cleaner.. haha

thanks for the info though..

would it save money to, keep the teg, maybe give to my mom, and then I buy another teg, but manual? ....or would it be cheaper to convert the auto to manual?...
Given the age of the car, I would not convert it unless you plan on keeping it for a very long time... like a decade or more.

Cars with manual conversions have horrid resale values in general.

I'd baby this car and keep her in good condition, then save for a manual transmission car.

yeah, it would be waste of time and money to convert when the mileage is so low..

I know others may have found lower mileage for their price..

but when I got it the mileage for the price I paid, I was just so happy..

nah, just that I see many integra drivers.. and mostly it's manual.. and somehow I feel ... like my car is weak.. so yeah.. that was why I wanted to convert to manual just so the other integras wouldn't say.. "oh, it's automatic".. and yeah.. ya know. the whole.. get respect thing..

anywho.. thanks for your input dave..

Happy to chime in. h:

The 4 dr is a beautiful design IMO. Instead of building a hyperactive street demon, I'd look at a set of Tein CS coilovers and a decent set of rims & tires. Let the car retain it's smooth cruising ride and focus on handling.

My 2.3Ą.

i'm sure your getting alot of people who look at your car and then look at the auto tranny and go "oh, an auto.." As far as respect goes, if you just drive your auto LS integra w/o 1 upgrade, everyone will see you as stock (score of 5).

After your first upgrade, people's opinions will change, some will rate your car a 10 some a 1. Bascially if you put a body kit on, all the ricers will give you higher scores (respect) and the car enthusiest will give you a 1 ( i feel like a video game giving "respect" points).

basically what i'm trying to get at is you can't please everyone no matter what you do but you play the ratio.

Anyways, enough non-sense typeing. How old are you? What's the life situation?

I'd definantly spend alot of time searching and learning about what kinda of car you want, what you'll be doing and what sort of power you'll be doing. Basically Knowing Exactly what your future goals are. After that, make your decision.

If it were me? i'd sell that low millage ls and buy another ls with more millage and go turbo.

as for me i only like auto on my slow winter car. f it were me id seel it and get a MT and boost it. you have to realize that 1. you need $ to boost and 2. you need more $ to fix the shitz that brake. but ive seen a lot of 4dr auto tegs that look real good. if you want to keep the teg go sleeper. people see 4dr and think slow, IMO so if you boost that and keep it real clean, nothing gawdy. thatd be real nice. NOT 2 SURE ON SIDE EFFECTS ON A BOOSTED AUTO?
