If your asking if you should do an ls/vtec then turbo or not. You need some more researching but regardless.

How much money do you have to invest into this set-up? what are your hp goals?

ya just turbo ur ls engine, the lower compression pistons woulod be perfect for boosting. Dont bother getting vtec engine ls engines love boost.

Would it be smart to turbo a teg with 166,500 miles? since you guys mentioned that LS is better off boost, should i just get a whole entire engine and boost considering that my engine have that much miles on it. I just bought it, its a 95 LS.. It is garaged for now. I'm not taking it out until the spring time.

My goals are aroung 240-250 hp as a daily driver.

By the way before i get flamed or anything, I just signed on to this forum two days ago. I know I have to do research but since somenoe posted this, I figured what the hell. Anyhow, i currently have a 04 spec v. I just bought the Teg b/c i love teg eversince they came out but i was too young to buy one.

Any ideas would be great. Or PM if and you are interested in helping me out/giving me advice on these things since I'm netw to the TEG.

To be honest I don't know exactly what type of engine I have. Again its an 95' LS

If its a 95 LS you've got a B18b. You should be ok for boost, but I'd do a compression test and such to be safe.

I wouldn't bother with a different engine since the LS has a good base for a turbo setup already. I would, however, run a leakdown and compression test to see how healthy your engine is before even attempting anything. If it isn't healthy, you could either opt for a rebuild, a newer LS motor, or a GSR motor depending on how much you plan to spend. The most cost effecient method is just to rebuild your current motor and since you plan on garaging it all winter, it would be an excellent time to do such a thing.

With a low boost application, 230-240 whp will be pretty easy to obtain.

Ok, I see depending on the condition of my motor then I would go from there. If the LS is not good, do yo recommend i rebuild it or get a newer one or transfer altogether with a GSR and then turbo? or stick with LS, rebuild and go turbo? I just want a feel of having a turbo, i can't afford STI or EVO's yet. I'm only 20 i'm just new to all the car scene. I don't know if i mentioned, I have a 04 spec V which i also need to add some mods in, but all motor nothing with boost since its too new. The reason i got the integra was to play around with and learn stuff.

I'm not planning on putting so much into this considering it's a 1995, although I am willing to spend about $1500 to get it running more than good. I would definitely need suspensions (and idea what kind...that is not completely expensive but will hold up for the life of my car) and two axles. Everything else I will need are cosmetics such as a need to change my dashboard lights (how do I change it? what bulb would i need...i guess i can research that sometime later but if one of you guys tell me that would be great)....Those two i mentioned are what i found out after buying the car and before garaging it.

How do i run a compression test or leak test? I am not blessed having a garage or tools. I usually have everything done with a mechanic. If it needs a lift or anything like it, I guess it would have to wait until I take it out...but what i want to do is buy everything that i need now during the winter, take it out on spring and hook everything on within a week or so...however long they say it would...this is why it would be great if someone who know's integras who live anywhere or near NY would be helpful. I'd pay them instead since i can learn from them....

If all you have is $1500 for the full turbo setup, you should probably look elsewhere. The parts alone will be around there and then you need to factor in an engine management system along with dyno tuning.

If you are still set on turbo, rebuilding the motor is the most cost effective option and will give you a nice fresh engine that will not give you any problems once the turbo goes on.

As you mentioned, you will most likely need a better suspension setup to handle the extra power and most likely a better clutch and wider exhaust. It isn't a very cheap route, but in terms of bang for buck, it is the best option.

1,500 was the price excluding the turbo. It was the amount i was willing to spend to make sure all cosmetics and handling options are all taken cared off. The guy I bought it from only cared about the handling. The car has eibach pro kits, new tires on 2001 integra rims and sway bars. Before he gave it to me, he just got a tune up done. He said that the head was just aligned and the little box next to it was just replaced. The 1,500 i was shelling out was for suspensions, axles, and clutch stage 2 or 3? and all other cosmetics like HID lights, wipers, mats, and all other little things I can do myself.

also the car already came with a really nice sound system...i might consider taking the box he put on the back to decrease the weight, but for show, i might also just leave it on since my new car doesn't have ony system.

How much will it be for a turbo set up with everything that you mentioned....well how much within ball park would i need to have everything that i need for a good realiable boost?
