Default programming 03 accord remote for 02 accord???

I have a 02 SE accord coupe, which as the factory alarm installed. Do you guys know if the remote on the 03 accord key will work with the 02 factory alarm? If so, how do you program it? I know the key part itself on the 03 accord key will not work, but that can be done by switching in the 02 key. Thanks

They program the same (as the 03 key did.) your new 03 key directions will work the same in your '02 car.

My buddy makes the conversions on the side for '03 fob with '02 and earlier keys....

both are the same key.

same as making an '02 remote work on an '02. It should be in your owners manual.

no no no you can't program different remotes to work for your car...that's like trying to get your satellite radio remote to work on your TV or a camry remote to work on your accord. The remotes you can use are listed in the FAQ.

?? The '03 remote in the key is the same as the fob remote fournd on the '02-98 Accords and '04 TSX key. It should work fine. Both keys use the on-off ignition button sequence.

If you transplant the transponder from the 02 into the 03 it will work. As far as i know the transponders are different and the keyless entry receiver will not accept it. There are about 30 different Honda remotes and none of them are interchangeable with each other that I've ever heard of.

My understanding is the "chip" only effects the ingnition not the lock controls.
The above Accord '03 remote-hybrid key works just fine in our '04 TSX. I have a second key being made for the '00 Accord as well.
