So im about to buy a TL.... need help
So first off, im sure we can all agree that we hate greesey car salesmen.....
I currently have a 04' V6 Accord Coupe with 24k miles..... and am going to trade it in........ Im hoping to score 19/20k on the trade in value.....
Currently the dealers here in houston are offering me 31,700 on a Non-navi automatic TL....... I havent tried to negotiate this price........ but am hopeful of scoring 1thousand below that when its time to negotiate.
I know the 06' TL's are about to come out, and have less HP..... I really dont have the "down payment" for my TL until 2 weeks....
I guess hmmmmm (i know im saying allot here) Im looking at a Satin Silver with quartz interior....... My accord is graphite (comparable to anthricite) and when a rock chip hits the paint, its clear as day....... so im thinking silver is my best option.
Do you guys think I will have much luck?
I only want to finance 26,000 for the TL and put about 7k down.... Sad thing is i owe 22 on my accord
........ not sure what magic im hoping for, but I am sorta thinking this is possible as the 06's are about to hit the road.

The new TLs have the same damn engine, it's a different rating system.
If you want to get money for your 'trade in', don't trade it in...they'll either rape you on the value of your used car or the price of the TL, but they'll get you one way or the other.

I agree. Sell it privatelyl and then negotiate. You can get a better deal if you buy the leftover 2005 model instead of the new 2006 model.

Call around the different dealership and ask to speak with the internet manager. He often has a better price than the sales person at the counter. Once you get a good price, call back the other dealers and see if they can beat it. Then lever one off the other until you get what you want. I've done this for all of my cars and never have to drive from place to place to get a "good" deal. Also negotiate the new car price and the trade-in separately so that the math doesn't get too messy. Also call other dealers that are in other states and see what they can do for pricing. I paid 32K for my 2005 TL with Navi in new york so you must be able to get a better pricing.
So after reading around here on the forums....... and with the replies i have gotten i really should only pay 30k even for Non-Navi.
I know that everyone on here is "pro navi" ..... I just honestly have no use for it when i know where i am going. I am pretty well traveled in the houston area.
Now if it had real time traffic updates.... that would be something to consider.....
Thanks again guys

I am not a "pro" navi as I don't have it on my TL because I won't use it that often. Same goes with my MDX.

Wow..you really know how to piss off a car salesman. I used to sell cars and there was nothing worse that what you do to purchase a car. Profit is not a dirty word. There is no reason a dealership needs to sell cars at or under invoice price to make a deal. If you can afford a $31,000 car, then you can afford a $32,000 car. If not, then you are looking at too much car. There are other things that price to realize when purchasing a car. If purchasing a new car, you will have a warranty for 4/50000. I know you can have your vehicle serviced anywhere, but you usually get preferential treatment when having your vehicle serviced at the dealership you purchased it...i.e. free loaners/last minute appointments, etc. You also have to be able to trust the dealership. They might give you a hell of a deal on the price, but could try screwing you in the finance office. I know pretty much all tricks of the trade. This was the main reason I got out of the car business cause noone wants to give any kind of profit on a car.
*end rant*

Give me a break! Go sell your car to some other less informed consumer!
