I got this Valentine on my desk that was supposed to go to a Marine in Iraq from a lil girl that was being all supportive. I was deployed there twice but I'm stateside now. Would you write her back and bluff, write her back and be honest, or not write back at all?

i wouldnt write back, this girl is likely to end up a 'pen pal' and you will have to either lead her along for a long time or disappoint her and stop writing :happysad:

call your local Marine recruiter or a friend that is in the military to find out how you can get it sent to a marine...

Yeah, I am a Marine that was in Iraq 2 times, that's what makes it a tough call. If I forward it, it will probably take another week to get there and by than, the troops won't even rememeber Valentines Day. Also, no guarantee they'd write back.

maybe it wouldnt be such a bad thing to send something back.

tell her that you were in Iraq twice but recently, you were able to come home and you still appreciate her support :dunno: something along those lines. she will probably be thrilled to know you are safe at home and to hear from you.

Hey,

My name is Pete and I am a Marine that is currently stateside but returned from Iraq in September. Somehow I got your Valentine on my desk and it appears that it was intended to go to a Marine currently in Iraq. Unfortunately, I would not have been able to forward it in time for the forward Marines to recieve it. But speaking from experience, since I was deployed twice, I can safely speak for all of us that your support does not go unrecognized and unappreciated. We love recieveing mail and support from anyone back home, not only our families and friends. With that being said, I'd just like to extend a sincere thank you for your support. The following links contain my albums from each deployment:

Just to give you a better idea of how things are over there. Feel free to write back.

-Pete
