how was it? am i going to want to stab myself in the eye anytime during this movie? see im taking the ladies to go watch Hitch tomorrow then i have to come home and watch this movie with Kat cause shes "been dying to watch this movie" or whatever

 

My parents rented it, but I havent heard about it from them yet.

 

i saw the japanese version.. it was alright, seems like the richard gere remake is the same thing

i havent even seen either and i already know Hitch is going to be better,..but i already told her ill watch this movie with her when we get home tomorrow

 

I saw the japanese version a while back for my japanese class. I thought it was really good. Remake will probably suck though. Theres just somethings that dont work culturally.

 

The Japanese version worked because of the cultural context, and the American version failed due to that lack of cultural context. Due to that, they tried to put in melodramatic elements that cheapened the movie and made it horrible in general.
