Default JBL 300.1 and 2 Vega HED DVC 12's

the subs are dvc and the coils are wired in paralell, then each sub is powered by its own channel on the jbl monoblock amp. This is what confuses me, the amp is monoblock powervalve series amp from JBL, but there are two sets of speaker terminals In any case, each sub has a dedicated channel (even though its a mono amp ) Do you guys think the subs are being powered just right, underpowered or overpowered? I think they sound cool, but when I crank it to the point where the amp begins to have thoughts of distorting, it starts clipping Im thinking the subs need more juice, anybody agree?

if the sub is 4oHM DVC...you are ok because you are having a final 1OHM impedance....

if its any lower....like 2ohm dvc....its asking for future trouble.

12" Subwoofer
HED-12DVC

freq response:20-500 Hz

RMS: 200 watts
Maximum: 400 watts

(2.8v/1m): 90 dB

DVC MODELS: 4 ohms/coil

Does this help?

so the amp is seeing a 1 OHM load. that means each woofer is getting about 150watts. you do the math.

OK, looks like you are underpowering them... I'd run atleast 300 watts to each sub if it was me. So either get another BP300.1 or sell the one you have and get a BP600.1.

damn, I could imagine how sweet my subs would soun w/150 more watts on em. Man, they pound right now, I don't think my car could handle more juice to the subs. It already sounds like my gas tank is gonna fall off.
