Default Driving manual without the clutch

I just learned how to drive my manual civic without using the clutch h:.
Not very useful for everyday driving, but always good to know in case of an emergency.

no its not called power shifting...if you rev match properly, than the syncros align so that you can put it into gear.

Ok waste time using your clutch and pay for a new tranny and possibly a new engine.

Or just use 1/2 second of your time when shifting to use the clutch? Hrm... Hard decision there.

i agree. maybe if your slamming it hard all the time will it tear up your tranny and clutch. but say your getting on a highway and arent flooring it but just casually cruising u can shift pretty smoothly without the clutch and without any issues. so long as you dont do it 100% of the time

I would never dream of using this technique (If you can call it that) in any normal driving situation. I'd only use it if say i was out driving and somthing happened to my clutch so that it woulnt engage, or was very hard to engage, I'd use it to get me at least to a mechanic or back home. My friend was having some major clutch problems once, and his clutch would only engage if you pushed the pedal all the way to the floor. When it started gettin really bad, we had to drive to the mechanic without using the clutch.

It's only useful if your clutch hydraulics/pressure plate go out..

More common is burning up your friction plate.
