Default 95 Integra ABS light comes on

Ive got a 95 integra and my ABS light comes on when I restart the car after
it has been running and will stay on. My ABS does not seem to be working at
all.

But on a cold start, everything is fine, the ABS light is off and the ABS work great.

Any idea what may be the problem or things I can try to fix this ?

I already added some brake fluid, but that doesn't seem to work.

So, when you first start the car it will not come on..

If you drive around.. turn off the car, and start it back up, only then it turns on?

Ok, just looking through my Helm's manual. There is a huge trouble shooting list and steps you would need to follow..

I can start w/some simple items to check..

The first is to check the underhood fuse for ABS.. it's a 15A fuse. Check that out then get back to me.

There's a box a fuse especially for the ABS unit under the hood.

There was one 10 A, one 20 A, one 15A and also one 40A.

All the fuses where OK.

Thx for the help

Hrm... There is a whole chapter in the Helms dedicated to Trouble Shooting the ABS system.

Looks like you'd need to get a code by counting the # of blinks from the ABS light for us to get anywhere. You have to do this by jumping the service connector.

It is located under the right hand side of the glove box. You'd have to jump it w/a paperclip like you do to get Check Engine Lights... You know how to do that right?

Also you can remove the 15A fuse you were talking about earlier to erase the ABS units memory and see if the light comes back. Make sure to leave it out for @least 3 seconds.

What kind of conditions have you been driving in... snowy/slick?

I'll check the code tomorrow morning.

While checking the underhood fuses, I needed to move the car just a bit. The engine was on about 1 1/2 minute.

The ABS light was off. I restart the car just after that, and the light was on.

I have the problem since last friday. It was a pretty cold day, there was no snow at all.

Since last friday, it happened once or two that the ABS light didn't come on after I restart my car.

Strange how it's sporadic like that..

Check here before you count the blinks.. the ABS unit can store up to 3 error codes.. I'm going to post up info on how to count them properly in just a moment.
