Default T-Mobile making money out of me

Here's the story...

Plan: Family plan with three lines. My line, girlfriend/ex-girlfriend line and gf/ex-gf's sister line.
Ex-gf lost her phone. Bought a Nokia 6600 at a dealership worth 450. Returned the next day because she didn't like it. She wrote a check for it. We discussed the refund with the dealership and decided that we'll just put a stop payment on the check instead of waiting for 3 months just for a refund. 3 weeks past and bill came and there's additional 450 charge for returned check. I called customer service and they told me to either a: fax the return reciept or b: go back to the dealership and have them take care of it. I did option a first, waited for a call from them but to no avail. Went ahead with option b and dealership started talking to them. They said they will take care of it. Dealership called me back and told me that it will take 4-5 days for the credit to show up in the account. I waited for 6 days and called back customer service and asked if credit has been applied. NOT YET. They said that the dealeship needs to fax something from them to get it processed. I'm very aggrevated(spelling) by now. I called dealership again and dealership felt mad too that customer service hasn't took care of it. He asked them why this hasn't been taken care of. Customer Service said that the infos were forwarded to a superior. Dealership was on hold while on the phone with customer service and he told me that he will just call me back after their conversation. He did mentioned that everything needed was faxed from me and him and there is no reason that this is dragging. Waiting for a call back from him now.

Now the due date of the bill is in 4 days. I will not pay it with the additional charge. But I don't want to have a bad credit also. Was thinking of cancelling the service but I have to pay 250 or so because of contract.

Has anyone had this experience with T-mobile before? Or anything similar.

This is why checks suck.

I've had T-mobile for almost two years and never once had a billing problem.

Same here till now. I always pay with my debit card coz I want to see the money taken away from my account right away so I know how much money I still have. Never liked balancing checks. I had to make my ex-gf use her check because I wasn't there at the time she bought it. I would've paid cash. I saved money for that phone anyways. I told her that I would just deposit the money to her account the next day.

Dealership guy still hasn't called yet...

We never sent them a check. She went to a T-mobile store, bought a phone as an upgrade, wrote a check for it. The next day, she went back to the store and returned the phone. Now for our refund, she asked the sales person since the payment for the phone was a check, is it possible to just put a stop payment on it instead of having the check processed and for us to wait for 3 months for T-mobile to send us a refund check for the amount. The sales person agreed and said that they will not process the check any more since we're putting a stop payment on it. So we have every reason to believe that this was not to show up in our bill. Get it?

I've never once had a problem with T-Mobile's billing or customer service. And lately, my bill has been late every month due to my lack of funds h: and it hasn't affected my credit. I asked them one time when i went in to pay it late, if this would affect my credit, and the guy said no.
