stereo shuts off while bass is hitting
well i heres my system on my 96 del sol
jvc 1300 mp3 cd player
4 6.5" dual speakers
2 1200w sony amps
2 P5's sony 12" subs running mono with each amp
4 1/2" tweeters
the problem is that when the bass hits really hard the stereo goes off and then comes back on even with the car on it has only a 8 gauge wire for the 2 amps , but also it just killed my battery , now it doesnt hold a charge , i guess becouse i kept draining it too often,(deepcycle)

well after i turn the system off at night after being played for about 20 min, the headlights are really dim, i have to drive like that for about 10 min so they go back to normal, i was thinking my battery died alredy and it's only 3 months old a diehard just in case it makes any diffrence,,, well now im planing on 2 caps since their only like 80 for the digital rockford fosgates ones, with my discout ,
whats the diffrence between the yellow top and the red, etc batteries????

STEP 1 - upgrade the power wire - 8 ga is FAR too small for this kind of application - you are already getting a large voltage drop at your amplifier. It may be dropping below 11v at the amp, causing them to go into protection - this is on top of your alternator problem.
A simple 1F cap won't fix this. Install the amplifers properly, then assess the charging system.

True True True.
Besides having cheap amps, 8g wires are way toooooo small. You should get a 2-3 farid cap and a yellow optima batt. I had my system hooked up to my stock setup and I drained the crap out of my batt. I changed everything using 2g then 4g split, 3 farid, yellow optima, Bam Shit is straight.
