I had a fun little morning... cut open the top of my thumb right through the nail, and it was just hanging there by a little bit of skin. I got a ride to the medical center in the hotel van, got my thumb sewed back on, and was back at work in less than an hour and a half. I didn't have to do anything, wont have to pay for anything, and can take tomorrow off if I want. My thumbs a different story though... they stitched it back on, but they say it's going to grow back up from underneath, and the dead top part will just fall off when its time... so esentially, they just used the top half of my thumb for a big band-aid. They said that when it heals, my fingerprint will be different

it was one of those deli meat slicer things with the big rotating blade, I was cutting lemons for iced tea, and got my thumb and went "oops, thats not a lemon." The thing is so damn sharp I hardly felt it. Just sliced clean through.

 

arent you supposd to wear a chain glove when doing something liek that

Hmm, I actually did just spell it out :thinking:

 

theres a big guard on it with a handle, youre not supposed to actually touch the food you're cutting but a lemon slipped down, so I steadied it with my hand at just the wrong moment. Oops. :doh:

and as for pics, I don't have a digicam, and besides, I'm not allowed to take off my bandage for a day. It did look really disgusting though...

 

some guy at my work cut himself with a razor blade the other day, not too bad, but he got 3 stitches. we got our checks today, our boss gave him $100 for injury something or another on his check. i'm like..wtf, you're stupidity gets you a 100 bucks. i shoulda cut myself then.. i could deal with a few stitches for some money..
