Default when do you know the clutch is starting to slip?

a friend told me you can tell if the clutch is slipping if the rpm gauge and the speed gauge is "off mark". does anyone know a more solid answer?

you'll know it..if your rpm is increasing disproportionately to your rate of speed, it means your clutch is slipping

try putting the front of the car agaist a wall (might want to use a blanket or something between the car and the wall). put the car in 4th and release the clutch. if the clutch is slipping the car will stay on but it will stall if the clutch has enough power; not slipping.

You may just start loosing gears. In my prelude the first thing to go was 5th, then 4th, then the whole clutch. It just got to the point where it wouldn't go into those gears, then no gears at all..... The lesson to learn here is don't procrastinate. Getting it done early means you don't get each and every last mile of off the clutch, but it also means not having to push the car thru a damn carwash then into a parking lot, have it towed, and then get it replaced.

I burned my clutch 2 years ago... after that happened, my car was going like as an automatic transmission!!

you wont feel any power at 2nd gear and 3rd gear.
