Default Must be getting old...

I am an old skool member and haven't posted in ages.

I still enjoy my 99 GSR (with AEM CAI and ZEX kit), but ever since I got married the car has not been very practical. It's also too loud for everyday driving (it has never been a quiet car but i no longer enjoy feeling like i'm inside a 747).

That being said, I've been tossing the idea around in my head and it's still just a thought, but what do you think I could get for my teg? 75,000 miles. It also has a Kenwood Excelon receiver plus a 3 MD changer in the 2nd DIN spot, JL Audio speakers throughout (no SW).

Please talk me back into loving my teg cuz realistically, I have about 5 more years to go in this car. I test-drove the TL yesterday and fell in love.

TL is way overpowered to be a well-rounded sports sedan. And I'd say about $11k for your teg.

It's not like I can afford the TL right now anyways. My wife needs a new car once we move to Houston later this month and we've been looking at getting a Camry
I'm trying to talk her into a TSX, but the couple thousand dollar difference is huge for us right now as we also just bought a house and I may need to start paying back my med school loans.

Have you looked at the 03/04 accords? Those cars are super nice inside and out. You should check them out if you haven't already. I think their interiors are on par with acuras now.

First off, welcome back.

Second, as AXiS alluded to, an Accord V-6 6spd can be a hell of a lot of fun. I'm smitten by the coupe in particular. h:

yeah... we were thinking accord, but my wife actually likes the looks of the camry better... and she doesn't know how to drive a stick.

so it's either an auto TSX or an auto Camry

Is there any hope of her learning to love a manual? :happysad: I certainly hope so, particularly if you're going to become a one-car household.

IMHO, an automatic tranny on a TSX motor would be sacrilege. And the auto Camry will put you to sleep.

I'd see if she'd be receptive to learning to drive stick on your Integra...:dunno:

the new car would be in addition to my teg so the fun factor will still be mine
i'm more concerned about getting her a car that she will be comfortable driving. i was just hoping that by getting the TSX (even if it's auto) it would satisfy both our needs but it looks to be out of our price range right now.

what's a few thousand dollars though, right? that tsx is badass. my girlfriend almost bought one a few weeks ago, but she doesn't have enough credit to get a loan, and her parents won't cosign. the sportshift automatic is so nice. add a couple thousand more for the nav system...

Camry's rule!!, they make awesome family cars, and they will run forever!!.

they arent as sporty as the accord but they have bullet proof drivetrain, borring yes, but practicle!!. My friend has a 91 Camry v6 (bought it new) and currently has 660,000 miles on it (got passed down a few generations). beleve it or not it's still on the original auto tranny, and original motor!! The car only burns oil if u keep her reving past 4500 rpm, but if you drive it normally the car burns nothing!!. All you have to do is change the fluids at normal regular intervals (this dude never uses synthetic either)
