Default Terrible noise when turning...busted LCA?

Okay...so about a week ago I was driving in this wonderful city of crappy roads...when I hit a manhole cover (sticking up a good 4 inches at least, construction area)...hard. The rear right side hit to be exact. And it wasn't the sound of bottoming out my suspension either. It was instead, a terrible thump on something metal. My guess would be the LCA.

This is where it gets weird...everytime time I make a semi-hard left turn (as in, 15 mph or higher)...I get a terrible noise coming from that area.

These are ITR lca's by the way...is it possible that they're warped slightly and causing this to happen? Sound familiar to anyone...it's bad.

It oscillates. Like a "roar roar roar roar" noise.

Funny you mentioned that...because I was just starting to think the same thing earlier today. It's possible that one of the races could be bad when the car is cornered hard.

So is there a way to formally diagnose it. For example, can I jack up the wheel, turn it, and notice anything? Should I see something visually wrong w/the bearing? Thanks in advance for all the help.

unless you have access to a ChassisEar, there is no way you can formally diagnose it. but i can almost guarantee you that is what they will replace at a dealer(i work at one).

ChassisEar sounds like an accelerometer...

I happen to use those connected to an FFT. If I can get the specs on the bearings (number of balls, diameter of each ball and race)...I could do the same thing. Haha...I'll see what I can do about changing this thing.
