Default Intake and Intake manifold compatibility

I plan on replacing some of the stock intake components on my 95 gsr with
new ones. If i replace my intake manifold with a Skunk 2 one, will i still be able to use the AEM short ram intake that is for gsr's, as in, are they compatible? or will i need to purchase a new one?

there will be fitment issues due to the extra downward bend on the gsr intake arm.

Not sure if you can make a GSR AEM CAI work with the skunk2 intake manifold, but I believe an ITR AEM CAI will work just fine. If you haven't bought the intake yet you may want to hold off until you purchase the intake and the manifold at the same time.

You can make the gsr intake work. Put it on and then rotate the intake pipe down, it wont be perfect but will work.

Get the Type-R stuff. When you start jury-rigging the pipes and stuff, you start running into issues with the hood and strut tower bars. If you haven't bought the part yet, go with the ITR related stuff.

If you do buy a new intake manifold, how do u find a compatible air intake? Or is it u keep the stock one? So is it either one or the other?

Like everybody's saying.

If you have a gsr and put on a skunk2 intake manifold, most intakes for use on the type-r will work.

The Skunk2 is a Type-R spec manifold with a GS-R flange for the head. It positions the throttlebody where it would be normally found on a Type-R (up and aft of the GS-R position). Use a Type-R spec manifold, buy Type-R spec parts.

Another interesting note is that your throttle cable bracket won't fit under a stock GS-R strut tower brace. You'll have to a. remove the brace b. get a Type-R bracket, throttle cable, throttle body c. get a Type-R brace or d. bend the bracket and check your cable every few hundred miles to ensure it isn't chaffing.
