how to determine year of ecu?

Default how to determine year of ecu?

a guy i work with bought a p72 ecu but doesnt know what year it is. is there any way to tell by looking at the serial number or anything else?

maby this will help, my serial number should be like the others to a certain extent. mine is 37820-p72-a01
813-114366
maby a set besides the p72 cluster will be the same. mine is an obd1

a01 i believe is the version...so obd2 would be something like a02
