5w -30 is what most people recomend, I like using hte valvoline high mileage on my car becuase of the extra additives.

its getting warm out, use 10W-30 - more protection and thicker than 5W-30 (good in winter).

Its up to you...do you want to switch to synthetic or what?

very true. if you're burning synthetic oil (because it's thinner and lighter) then you can switch back to dino (conventional) oil.

I wouldnt recomend this, i used to think this way, but the only difference between 5w-30 and 10w-30 is the startup thinkness until the oil gets warm, these bothw ill preform the same at operating temp, and if you change to 10w it makes cold starts harder on your engine (even if its warm outside) If you are somwhere when its hot ouside use a higher last number to make it preform better under higher temps...

Synthetic makes older engines leak becasue all the molecules are the same size, and it has cleaners in it that will eat all the gunk that are now holding the leaks that dino oils will keep in tact...so running synthetic oils will somtimes clean the eninge out and create more leaks...And you shouldnt have a problem burning it, its actually more resistant to burning at high engine temps...
