Default Make a DX go faster...

I have a 1995 DX 4dr. I'm trying to do research on variety of ways that I can get more power. I'm saving money and I was planning on getting a EX engine swap and then turboing it. I was wondering though if I was to go N/A and I upgrade my pistons, rods, other internals etc, will I be able to get some more power? I'm not looking to go crazy fast, I just want to be able to hit low 15s and maybe high 14s in the 1/4. Is this possible with internal work? Also, I have 100,000 mile on my car, but its in excellent shape with everything done and changed on time. If I do the internal work will it be like I have a new engine since I'm replacing things?

Upgrading internals, port and polish, blue printing..a full make over, will help out that motor alot. I don't know about low 14's, you might make that it all depends on what you do and how you do it. But I guarantee you'll exit the 16 second club.

First off, you can hit high 15's stock gutted, 1/4 tank of gas, right weather conditions, precision timing, and if your somewhat experienced. Unless your consistent and rather good, you won't do it all the time.

Also, it is possible to do a head swap from a 1.6L vtec and as some others pointed out, porting polishing the bajibus out of it will get you in low 15's. 14's I doubt...not unless your running a turbo and you don't mind risking your clutch and head

If I upgrade all my internals and do the head swap from a 1.6L vtec engine, will I be able to turbo it safely if I want to in the future.

Btw, I forgot to mention its an automatic...

If you're thinking of putting so much money into that engine why no try a swap, it would give more power and more aftermarket parts for it......

I was in the same position, your best bet is to save your money, that D15 is too limited. Go for a B or H series swap. And get rid of that Auto-tranny!!

why don't you do this civicredline, suck other people's dicks (even people in this chatroom) and get some more money. You should rather get some medicine and become smarter and then use this dumb forum to educate others about how to be smart like you. You will be able to make money and Once you have enough money, give some to the person who destroyed your car and thank him for destroying your "100000 miles" car. Why do you even care about making it in 14 secs. Just let go, use the money to get some education (all of you responding to this also need education). Get this from a truly educated superior being, you pathethic homos. Well when you are knowledgeable enough to stop asking stupid questions like these, civicredline, i will race you and prove just how slow you and your car are. that also goes for all of you.
